There are so many beauty products on the market today. Some truly work while many do not. Approximately one week ago, I experienced an adult acne breakout. Concealer and foundation were not helping. Even in my adult life, acne seems to know when to arrive. It almost always arrives during times when I have an important event approaching. No matter when they appear, I require a quick fix.
For the first couple days, my anti-acne face wash was not very friendly. I tried some acne spot treatments; nothing seemed to help. I then began to reminisce about the days of Aqua Net hairspray. It then dawned on me that I could try to spot treat the acne with toothpaste, as i did in the past. Yes, toothpaste! My children thought it was hilarious. I heard more than once, "Mommy, did your brush your teeth or your face?"
Who remembers these classic beauty tips and their benefits?
Spot Treat pimples with toothpaste - This method works better than expensive acne creams. The toothpaste often drys the pimple out overnight and or shrinks it to almost nothing. When visiting Acne.org I found that almost 75% of their visitors use this method.
Preparation H under eyes to reduce puffiness - I have been dying to try this method but just do not feel comfortable using it due to its intended use. My grandmother actually introduced me to the idea as she has used it and swears by it. The ingredient phenylephrine reduces swelling.
Small piece of eraser as earring backing - Have you ever lost the back to your favorite earrings at work, a function, or school? I have! Recently my daughter and I were at a dancing function. Just before she was to go on stage, she lost the back to her earring. I was quickly reminded to use a small piece of pencil eraser as the backing to her earring, something that I always used to do during my early school years.
Vaseline as a moisturizer - Similar to my toothpaste story, my mother used to immerse her face with Vaseline at bedtime. I used to ask, "Mom, what in the world are you doing?". According to an article written by Live-strong Vaseline does not help diminish or repair fine lines and wrinkles. Vaseline helps keep the skin completely moisturized to reduce wrinkles from being noticed.
